Classic Sportswear UK was founded in 1993 by former Cardiff City player Wayne Matthews, he began his journey by embroidering sportswear from his bedroom. Wayne’s vision from the start was to provide an alternative to the mass-imported sportswear flooding the market, especially with the lack of affordable UK-based manufacturers.
With a deep passion for football and sports, Wayne understood the unique needs of fans, players, and clubs, and committed himself to delivering high-quality, custom sportswear solutions that reflect their identity and purpose.
Over the years, what started as a small venture has evolved into a leading British sportswear manufacturing company. From manufacturing gear for the 2012 London Olympics to supplying premier league football teams and clubs across Europe, Classic Sportswear UK has established itself as a trusted name in the industry. Still proudly family-run by Wayne and his wife, Linda Matthews, the business continues to grow in 2025.
